Hot Water Systems & Safety (inc. Unvented Hot Water)

£250.00Price
  • Course Code: HWSS

  • Duration: 1–2 days

Hot water systems carry real risk if they're not installed and maintained correctly, which is why the regulations around them are strict and the qualifications non-negotiable. If you work on hot water systems, this certificate allows you to demonstrate competence, comply with Approved Document G (ADG) 2016, and take on work that would otherwise be off-limits.

This course is aimed at experienced plumbing and heating operatives who need a recognised qualification in the installation, servicing and maintenance of hot water systems. It covers the requirements for installing G3 unvented hot water systems, including systems up to 500 litres capacity and 45kW power input, ensuring you understand exactly how to work in line with ADG when carrying out hot water installations.

Crucially, the Hot Water Systems and Safety certificate is recognised by Competent Person Schemes (CPS) approved to offer self-certification under ADG, meaning you can self-certify your own hot water and unvented HWS installations rather than relying on third-party sign-off. It's also required by Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies for anyone looking to be recognised for the installation of solar thermal hot water systems, making it an essential qualification if renewables are part of your plans.
